Green tea capsules were produced for those people who either do not like the taste of green tea, feel like they don’t have the time for brewing and drinking tea, or have some other reason why they don’t want to drink tea. Green tea capsules make it possible for these people to still be able to take advantage from the nutritional benefits of green tea.
Just two capsules of green tea extract per day are considered to be enough to provide the body with the benefits of 20 cups of green tea. The antioxidants contained in green tea capsules are known to prevent the growth of cancer cells, lower cholesterol levels, inhibit the abnormal formation of blood clots and thus help prevent heart attacks and strokes. They are able to slow down arthritis, they can help you lose weight, they keep DNA intact and stabilize the membranes of cells.
Green tea was also found to lower the risk of breast cancer as it provides chemicals that slow the growth of blood vessels that feed tumors and limit the amount of estrogen that might fuel the growth of breast cancer cells. Researchers at the University of Southern California found that Asian women who regularly drank green tea had about half the risk of breast cancer compared to women who drank no green tea at all. Further findings showed that green tea can also prevent cancer of the prostate and cancer of the lung.
Three cups of green tea a day were shown to give some health benefit. However, many researchers believe that up to 10 cups per day are needed to receive the full antioxidant benefit of green tea. Green tea capsules provide just that. One capsule contains the equivalent of 10 cups of tea, and what is more, there is no diuretic effect brought on by drinking such a large amount of tea.
